Banjo #11 - Tackhead


This banjo was commissioned by someone who really loved different aspects of several previous builds. He wanted the mahogany and bloodwood rim from this banjo, the wormy maple neck from this banjo, the inlay that I did on this banjo and he wanted a stripe down the peghead as I'd done on another banjo.

This is the first banjo that I've made that includes Pegheds mechanical fiddle pegs. They were more difficult to install than I thought they'd be, but they really are awesome. They keep the aesthetic of an old-time banjo, but can be fine-tuned easily.
