This banjo was put together for Frank Lee of the Freighthoppers. I'd come across an old plank of rosewood (supposedly found in the barn of furniture builder after 70+ years of storage - thank you Ron Thompson) and knew that it was a big enough to create just one neck. Because this would be my only chance to build a neck with such special wood, I wanted to banjo to be special. I approached Frank and he went for it. He supplied the old overspun pot (probably older then the rosewood) and a steel tone ring.
